Next, we delicately re-glue any corners that may have come loose, restoring their stability and structural integrity. Should any pieces of the frame be missing, we skillfully craft new ornamentation to seamlessly replace them, ensuring a harmonious aesthetic. These newly created parts are meticulously gilded to match the existing gilding, creating a seamless and cohesive finish.

Authentic gold leaf, metal leaf, or bronzing powder are thoughtfully selected, based on the unique circumstances of each frame, in consultation with our esteemed clientele. Our expertise extends to the restoration of wooden frames, ranging from the rich tones of mahogany to the earthy elegance of walnut and oak. With painstaking precision, we cleanse these wooden frames, ensuring not to disturb their inherent beauty. Any imperfections, such as scratches or dents, are meticulously repaired to restore the frame to its original splendor. Finally, we carefully color the repairs, meticulously matching them to the frame's original hue, creating a flawless and harmonious result.

Art & Picture Restoration

At Peter's Gallery, we specialize in restoring artworks to their original glory. Our museum archival restoration service breathes new life into paintings, working closely with our clients to determine the best approach for each piece. We take into account the artistic, historical, and financial factors involved.

When it comes to restoring paintings, our process includes tear repair, lining, cleaning, stretching, in-painting (re-painting) of missing areas, and varnishing. For severely damaged artworks or pieces with lost or missing paint, we carefully re-line them, mend any tears, stabilize any chips, and provide new support. Additionally, we expertly in-paint any missing or worn parts of the art, as needed.

Photo Retouching

At Peter's Gallery, we provide retouching and digital composition services to enhance the quality of your photographs. Our skilled technical team has the ability to bring aging photos back to life. We fully understand the importance of working collaboratively with our clients. We will review, evaluate, and discuss the appropriate amount of restoration or re-composition needed, keeping your budget in mind. Throughout the process, we offer proofs upon request and can email in-progress images for your approval.
